Links in Answer Options

Add clickable links to your answer option labels using a simple markdown syntax.

You can add a clickable link to any answer option label using a simple markdown-style syntax:

[link text](https://your-url.com)

For example, a Legal Consent checkbox label like this:

I agree to the [Terms of Service](https://example.com/terms) and [Privacy Policy](https://example.com/privacy)

will display as "I agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy" with both links clickable.

No special editor is needed — just type the syntax directly into the answer option's label field on the Question edit page.

Where it works

Links are supported in the answer labels of the following question types:

• Multiple Choice

• Single Choice

• Binary Choice

• Mosaic

• Consent (the Checkbox Label field — the most common use case, e.g. linking to your terms or privacy policy)

Links render everywhere these questions are shown: the on-site survey widget, public survey links, email and SMS surveys that open in the browser, the dashboard preview, and Shopify checkout and post-purchase surveys (where they render using Shopify's native link component).

Behavior

• Links always open in a new tab, so the participant never loses their place in the survey.

• Clicking a link does not select or deselect the answer — only clicking elsewhere on the option does.

• Only http:// and https:// URLs are supported.

Things to keep in mind

• The link syntax is stored as part of the answer's text. This means the raw [link text](url) syntax will appear anywhere the answer value is shown as plain text — for example in CSV exports and integration payloads. The link text itself is what participants see in the survey.

• Dropdown, Autocomplete, Rank, and Image Choice questions do not render links — the syntax will appear as plain text there, so we recommend only using it with the question types listed above.

• If you translate your survey, keep the [text](url) syntax intact in the translated label and translate only the link text.
