Synthetic Research lets you generate realistic AI-powered survey responses from virtual respondents that match your target demographics. Instead of waiting days or weeks for real customers to respond, you can get directional data in minutes by defining audience profiles and letting the AI fill out your survey on their behalf.

How it works

1. Create a survey — Build your survey with the questions you want answered.

2. Open the Audience tab — Navigate to your survey and click on the Audience tab.

3. Configure audience profiles — Pick a template (like US General Population or Young Professionals) or build profiles from scratch. Each profile defines a demographic segment with attributes like age, gender, geography, and more.

4. Set your research goal and context — Optionally describe what you want to learn and provide business context to improve response quality.

5. Set completion count — Choose how many virtual respondents should complete the survey (1 to 1,000).

6. Click Generate — The AI generates responses for each profile, respecting your survey's branching logic and slide rules.

7. View results — Responses appear in your standard analytics dashboard, just like real responses.

Synthetic responses are tagged with isSynthetic metadata so you can always distinguish them from real customer responses.

Monthly limits

Each plan includes a monthly quota of synthetic submissions. Submissions are calculated as completions x answerable slides — so a 5-question survey with 100 completions uses 500 submissions.
