## Profile Weighting

Profile percentages control how completions are distributed across your audience segments. Percentages must total 100%.

When you adjust one profile's percentage, the remaining profiles automatically redistribute their percentages to maintain a 100% total. For example, if you have three profiles and set one to 50%, the other two will split the remaining 50%.

When you add a new profile, all profiles are automatically redistributed to equal shares (e.g., 4 profiles get 25% each).

## Configuration Options

| Option                | Description                                                                                          | Range                   |

## How Responses Are Counted

Your monthly quota is measured in **responses**, not completions. The formula is:

> **Responses = Answerable Slides x Completions**

For example, a survey with 5 answerable slides and 100 completions uses 500 responses.

The following slide types are **not counted** as answerable and do not consume responses:

* Copy
* Thank-you
* Reward
* Action

All other slide types (single choice, multiple choice, short answer, long answer, binary choice, form panel, star rating, slider, email capture, range, satisfaction, NPS, dropdown, ranked choice, image choice, consent, country, file upload, etc.) are counted as answerable.

## Status Reference

| Status     | Description                                                                 |
| ---------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Generating | The AI is actively generating responses. Progress updates every 3 seconds. |
| Completed | All requested completions finished successfully. |
| Incomplete | Generation finished but some completions could not be completed. |
| Failed | An error occurred during generation. Check the error message for details. |
| Cancelled | You manually stopped generation. Any completions already finished are kept. |

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.zigpoll.com/synthetic-research/audience-profiles-reference.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
