# Deleting a Survey

Permanently delete a survey from your account

Remove a survey you no longer need from your Zigpoll account.

#### How to Delete a Survey

1. Go to **Surveys** in your Zigpoll dashboard.
2. Open the **⋯** menu on the survey you want to delete.
3. Click **Delete Survey**.
4. Type **permanently delete** and confirm.

You can also delete a survey from inside it: go to **Settings → General → Management Options** and click **Delete** under **Delete Survey**.

The survey will now be permanently removed.

Deleting a survey also removes its questions and all associated response data from your dashboard. There is no undo. Make sure to export your data first if you need to keep it: choose **Export CSV** from the same **⋯** menu. See [Exporting Data to CSV](/tutorials/exporting-data-to-csv.md).

Deleting a survey does not lower the number of responses counted toward your monthly plan limit.

#### Archive instead

If you might want the survey or its results later, choose **Archive Survey** from the **⋯** menu instead. Archiving takes the survey offline and keeps all of its data. See [Management Options](/polls/management-options.md).
